Description liutas4x4 2010-09-21 23:28:36 UTC
In case Windows (7, Home Premium x64) Explorer crashes on "Summary" and
"Document Satistics" tabs of file properties.
And it is ONLY if some non-OpenOffice.org files (*.doc, *.xls, *.docx) are
associated with OpenOffice.org (3.X).

There are a link to the dump file:

You can see difference between file properties applets if you set OpenOffice.org
as default handler for Office programs and if not:

TM->CD: Not reproducible with a recent OOo build on 2 different mashines,
running Win7. But the dump files may have some information. So please have a
look. Thanks.

For TM

If you need, I'll produce one more dump, but from completely another computer,
with Windows 7 Enterprise x32, AMD-based.
It goes to exactly the same crash at exactly the same conditions.

In both cases the rule is to have MS Office installed: on W7 Home Premium x64
there is MS Office 2010, on W7 Enterprise x32 -- MS Office 2007.

To clearly reproduce a problem, you must on computer, having both MS Office and
OpenOffice installed,
(a) associate with *.doc files an OpenOffice as default handling program.
(b) try to right-click in Explorer *.doc file, created with MS Word and choose
one of mentioned tabs on properties

Sometimes, you obtain an error even for *.doc files, created with OpenOffice,
sometimes MS Word-created file may not be buggy. But you definitely will obtain
an error if you have both Offices installed.

Hope it helps,
Eugenijus
