Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 114804
Index Entry. Import/Export Errors (doc-odt)
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:11:21 UTC
Field codes to define an index entry on MsWord (XE): * A colon (:) to separate entry and subentry. * A Semicolon (;) to sort an index entry. (OOoWriter does not have this option, issue 114115) On MsWord, if you need to include a colon or semicolon in an index entry text, you must use a backslash before the colon or semicolon (like regex). E.g. (XE "Luke 9 \: 21") Index Entry. Import/Export Errors 1) Import Error (odt to doc) OOoWriter is unable to recognize the complex "\:" or "\;" as ":" or ";" When you import an entry (or keys), you must remove the backslash. 2) Export Error (odt to doc). (A) OOoWriter exports a colon, without add a backslash. What you get on MsWord? The index entry is divided into an entry and a subentry (or into a subentry and a sub-subentry). (B) OOoWriter exports a semicolon, without add a backslash. What you get on MsWord? The index entry is divided into two parts. The second part does not appear in the alphabetical index. The ordering of the index entry is changed in the alphabetical index. When you export an entry (or keys), that includes a colon or semicolon, you need to add a backslash. Thanks for your attention
