Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 115010
Missing instructions in Help File - Comments
Last modified: 2010-10-11 04:52:24 UTC
OO-Writer: Inserting/Recalling Comments on an iMac using OSX 10.5.2: (also PC Win XP) Inserts are inserted as described by using the drop down menu or the three short cut keys. BUT, when returning to the document in OO3 Writer, the comments are initially absent. * View-Comments: check mark shows that they are there. * It is only by fortuitous trial and error one finds that to get the comments to display again one needs to go to <Insert-Comments>, which brings the Comments into view. The Help file tells you how to have the Comments permanently displayed in OO-Calc, though the directions fail on both the PC and the Mac. [On the PC the "Show comments permanently" is not available. [On the Mac, there is no "Options" item under Tools.] SUGGESTION:Indicate in HELP - How to recall Comments when missing, though present. *** Expand the Drop down menu for Insert - Comments and add <show comments permanently until deleted>
Not a P1. What you describe seems to be a bug in the core (non displaying comments though "View - Comments" activated) rather than an error in the help. Duplicate of issue 114239. Missing "Options" entry fixed in the Help, see issue 104448. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 114239 ***
