Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 116084
Find Bar has no Classic GUI icons
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:31:14 UTC
the new Find Bar has two arrows icons (arrow up, arrow down) which look always the same in any icon scheme you choose from the menu "Tools/Options/ Visualization/Icon Size and Style" (sorry I'm just traslating the menu names from the italian version) this is not a problem if you choose Tango, Galaxy or most of the other available icon schemes, since the Find Bar icons look quite neutral and match with each one of these. unfortunately if you choose the Classic icon scheme, the difference in design between the toonish, rounded Find Bar icons and the other squared, Win98 style toolbar icons becames very evident. i suggest to add a proper "Classic style" version of the Find Bar icons to be used with the Classic icon scheme.
since the FindBar was introduced in OOo 3.3 I propose to fix the classic GUI theme in OOo 3.3.1
Please have a look.
Confirmed. This is not a functional but an esthetical issue. It does not hinder any users work at any time, affecting a non-default icon set. Either there are no different icons available or the "icon set dependency" in the find toolbar is not working. Set target to OOo 3.x. sba->cd: Please proceed, thx.
cd: The find bar uses the same mechanism as all other toolbars in OOo. Therefore there is nothing to do from my side (developer). Someone needs to create icons for the classic theme who is an artist.
if I will create those icons, are you going to integrate them in future OOo releases?
