Description b0zo 2011-01-03 18:14:25 UTC
This urgent feature is a must-have in OOo 3.2.1 and any future versions. Unless
I have missed something, a user currently cannot jump back to the reference
(Parent) of a Footnote/Endnote/Cross-reference in a Writer document and exported
PDF. Any numbered Footnote/Endnote/Cross-reference must have links automatically
attached (or through optional check box in relevant dialog window) to its
numbered component in order to allow Users to click on that number so as to jump
back to the source anchor located throughout the document. Why only linking the
numbered component of Footnote/Endnote/Cross-reference? Answer: in order to
allow, where desired, external Hyperlinks in the body component of the
Footnote/Endnote/Cross-reference.

So clicking on the numbering component of a typical Footnote/Endnote or
Cross-reference would enable Users to navigate back and forth to its source
anchor for continuous reading without ever needing to use the scroll bar. Now
that's what I call intelligent navigation!
