Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 116678
Flowchart arrows do not render when kde4 theme view changed
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:34:25 UTC
Debian Squeeze KDE 4.5-7 OpenOffice Draw 3.2.1 When changing my theme from the default to another theme, the connection termination arrows on my flowchart disappear whereas everything else seems OK. The default theme does not alter the view window (the part of the page where the actual drawing resides) which seems to be causing the problem. At first, I thought the arrows were black and were hidden by the black background, however I changed the view on my window theme to white and the arrows were still missing. When selecting the connectors, the connection handles can be seen, but the arrows still do not appear. Apparently the arrows for the flowchart connectors are not being rendered by the same system as the other components on the flowchart. I took screenshots of the phenomenon, but do not know how to post them here.
First of all I recommend to use the more recent version 3.3 which has been released lately and not a 3.2.1 beta. You can attach screenshots or documents by using the "Create a new attachment" link right below the keywords section.

I installed OO 3.3 but was unable to test it as the theme does not change with the selected KDE4 theme. Probably need an interface to KDE to make that work. I reinstalled the OO 3.2.1 from my repository to retest the theme behavior. It seems that all that needs to be done to make the arrows disappear from the connectors on a flowchart is to change the `view background` and `view text` in the theme customizer without having to select a different theme other than the default. For some reason, many combinations of colors will make the arrows disappear. This should be easy to replicate if you have a KDE4 installation. Make sure to restart the document during a theme change or the theme will not take.
