Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 116700
Page zoom slider reacts to mouse released alone
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:45:37 UTC
The page zoom slider in the bottom right corner of the window interferes with horizontal page scrolling. If you release the mouse after scrolling a page horizontally, and the mouse happens to be hovering over the page zoom slider, then the zoom slider is *also* activated. This means that the page will suddenly zoom in or out (sometimes by a great deal) for no apparent reason. Very annoying.
@OS: the zoom slider should not react to the event sequence "mouse move" + "mouse release" without having a mouse click before this sequence. Example: - click and hold mouse button on an empty area of the status bar - drag over the zoom slider -> the zoom slider handle will move with the mouse though the event sequence has not been started (by a click) in the slider.
I think it's just a bad place to put the control regardless. Too close to the scrollbars.
Always reproducible with AOO 4.1.1. Because the issue was introduced with the zoom slider it is a REGRESSION. If one moves the scroll slider (or any sliders?) the mouse should glue at the slider so no other area will be touched releasing the mouse button.
