Description tecknomage 2011-02-06 17:54:03 UTC
OpenOffice 3.30.9567, Calc

Have 2 Manual Page Breaks (Row Breaks) is a spreadsheet.

The print out (and in Preview) do NOT page-break where they should.

The print out is as if I had no Manual Page Breaks.

OpenOffice 3.2 did not have a problem, Manual Page Breaks printed where they should.

I do have print formatted for 1-page x 4-pages, so a 3-page spreadsheet should
print OK.

Just confirmed, same spreadsheet using OpenOffice 3.2.1.9502 DOES print Manual
Page Breaks correctly.

There *is* a problem with OpenOffice 3.30.9567

That problem has been submitted already.

Spreadsheet that does NOT print Manual Page Breaks in 3.3
Comment 7 tecknomage 2011-02-08 12:21:01 UTC
Just attached the Spreadsheet that will NOT print Manual Page Breaks in
OpenOffice 3.3 but will print them in OpenOffice 3.2

The print SHOULD result in 3 pages.

Same as 114581.

Why do people keep closing this problem WHEN IT STILL EXISTS!

Close should = "resolved" AND should stat what version fixes the problem.

The behavior of Manual Page Breaks should NOT have changed between OpenOffice v3.2 and v3.3
Comment 10 tecknomage 2011-04-06 13:20:17 UTC
On reading the so called duplicate references, I see that I forgot to mention that I print the attached spreadsheet as print all on one page, landscape.

Again, OpenOffice v3.2 has no problem printing the attached spreadsheet as 3 pages. OpenOffice v3.3 does not print pages correctly. Even the previews are wrong, the Manual Row Page Breaks are being ignored.

Long time user of OOo. Just updated to 3.3.0. to get ready for fall semester at Sandhills Community College.

A personal spreadsheet with two manual row/page breaks printed properly in 3.2 and did NOT in 3.3.

Spreadsheet was set: page > sheet > settings "Fit print range(s) to width/heights".

By changing this to "Reduce/enlarge printout" gave me control of where page breaks occured.

I think this is a bug since it changes 3.2 instructions and procedure.

I instruct at Sandhills Community College Continuing Education. If I didn't experience this at home, would have been stumped in classroom when 3.3 acted differently than 3.2 installed on classroom computers.

Keeping classroom computers in sync with students downloading newer versions at home is a challenge.

PDF Print - Spreadsheet with 3 Manual Row breaks WRONG Print

Printed using *OpenOffice 3.3* AND LibreOffice 3.4.4
Comment 14 Tecknomage 2012-01-03 15:22:02 UTC
Just uploaded PDF spreadsheet prints sowing the CORRECTLY printed version and the WRONGLY printed version, USING THE EXACT SAME (no changes) SPREADSHEET.

All you have to do is look at "Page 1 of 3"

The correct PDF print is using OpenOffice 3.2.1

The wrong PDF print is using OpenOffice 3.3 (ALSO proofed using LibreOffice 3.4.4)

Spreadsheet that does NOT print Manual Page Breaks in 3.3

I checked the document in Bugzilla and the reason for not handling the Manual Breaks as expected is that there is a contradiction between the page format and Manual Breaks.
Go to Format Page and select the Sheet tab, in the Scale section as you can see the Scaling mode is set to Fit print range(s) to width/height the Width in pages is set to 1 and the Height in pages is set to 5
if you blank out the Height in pages the Manual Breaks are honored.

In my opinion it is not a bug but rather bad documented.

IMO, wrong. There should be NO difference on how OpenOffice versions handle page breaks. Version 3.3 behavior should = versions 3.2

This is for users of LibreOffice:

The incorrect behavior of Manual Row-Breaks in OO 3.3+ ALSO appears in LibreOffice.

According to a Newsgroup post there is a new RC release of LibreOffice 3.5.?

PLEASE, can testers test the "Spreadsheet that does NOT print Manual Breaks in 3.3" above, and check print results against "PDF Print - Spreadsheet with 3 Manual Row breaks CORRECTLY Printed" above.

I am trying to assess IF the bug got corrected or NOT.

Setting duplicate to bug 114581 again and closing. Setting duplicate does not mean, that the issue is fixed. It means only, that the same problem has been already reported in issue 114581. That issue gets a remark to here. So when QA proofs, whether the problem is really solved for issue 114581, all duplicate issues are considered too. Otherwise it would not be noticed, that this issue is also effected, when issue 114581 is fixed.
