I select some text in Writer, then right click on the selection to show available options, then move to "Font" and another side display opens containing names of my installed fonts.  Moving to this list, one may move down a desired font.  The list may be scrolled down to the arrow at the bottom of the window to see more choices than the number displayable on one screen height.  Selecting a font will change the previously selected to the new font.  This is great!

The bug I observed is that when one has in excess of 100 installed fonts, only the first one hundred fonts are accessible by this particular path!  Everywhere else, the number of displayable fonts seems to be unlimited, as it should be.  In this day of rapidly increasing interest and development in open and other fonts, this seems to be an unusually low limit.  I looked for a report of this painful bug beyond those presented when I began this reporting path and found none.

Thanks for your efforts in continually improving an already great product.

That's how it works by design: http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/incubator/ooo/trunk/main/svtools/source/control/stdmenu.cxx?revision=1198302&view=markup#l75
That value is hard-coded, and cannot be changed at runtime.

Note that this happens in the other applications: Calc, Draw, Impress

the hard coded limit was added to speed up menu open time on:
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=61775

Best is let show all fonts in context menù, at faster speed

IMHO right click Font should bring a "favorite fonts" list for quick selection.
Context menu should be fast.
