Text Animation setting "All paragraphs at once" can not show all paragraph together, it only takes effect on part of paragraphs.
Last modified: 2012-07-24 20:36:52 UTC
Build info: AOO3.4_r1327774 Reproduce steps: 1. New a presentation file in AOO3.4. 2. Create a new slide. 3. In the outline text box, input text in several paragraphs. 4. Select the text box, add animation to it, say, Entrance -> Box. 5. Double click the animation effect to open the "Effect Options" dialog. 6. Switch to "Text Animation" tab page, select "All paragraphs at one" in Group text combo box. Click OK. Issue: a. The "Start" setting on Timing tab page will be changed into With previous automatically. It makes the animation effect can not be seen. b. Expanded the animation effect group, double click the root note to open "Effect Options" dialog again, change "Start" setting into "On click". Play screenshow, some paragraphys have been shown before mouse click. This issue also makes the text animation can not play properly, after import a .ppt file with similar setting.
issue 1 and issue 2 also exist but for issue 1 ,i probably think it is design
Same issue seen with presentations created with OpenOffice 3.3. Upgraded to 3.4 last week and the text animation that was working with 3.3 no longer works correctly.
(In reply to comment #1) > issue 1 and issue 2 also exist > > but for issue 1 ,i probably think it is design I do not think so. On such a condition, it regarded the animation for each paragraph as one group, in order to make all of the paragraph play animation together, it changes the trigger in this group into "with previous" to implement the synchronization. But the trigger of the total group should kept default value "on click" which is the usually used. You can investigate the behavior in other office suite. Or try to use it to create an animation for several paragraph yourself. Then you will know how inconvenience it is.
What I was reporting is actually Bug 119756. Sorry for any confusion.
