Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 121326
Copying and text from OpenOffice file results in weird language when pasted
Last modified: 2015-10-07 01:27:36 UTC
I copy this text below from an OpenOffice file: "hiring is an infrequent exercise" Then I paste the text copy into Jutoh to do a "find" for the text in the project. The paste of the text that shows up when I copy it is this: "ηιρινγ ισ αν ινφρεθυεντ εξερχισε" I started the Jutoh project from the OpenOffice file. The text when I created the Jutoh project came out fine. I have "English" selected as language for everything I can find. I don't think it is Jutoh-related, because if I copy the same text from a PDF copy of the file (that I used to create the OpenOffice file) and paste it into Jutoh as the "find" text, it pastes as English.

(In reply to comment #0) > The paste of the text that shows up when I copy it is this: "ηιρινγ ισ αν > ινφρεθυεντ εξερχισε" this is actually the Greek transliteration of the text. Did you try pasting that very same content in another applications, like the web browser, etc.?
Created attachment 79882 [details] Pasting text into a browser I just did that test. Also comes out as English. See attached image.
Environment: Mac OS X 10.11, Open Office 4.1.1, build: AOO411m6(Build:9775) - Rev. 1617669 Test : could not reproduce 1: type “Hiring is an infrequent exercise” in OpenOffice Writer 2: copy the text 3: paste text in Jutoh 4: text appears as “Hiring is an infrequent exercise” in Jutoh I was unable to reproduce this bug and I believe it is because I do not know the versions of the software being used and the system environment.
