Armin LeGrand opened an e-mail thread about adding colors from Symphony to AOO.

This led to the idea (enhancement, RFE) to make the mentioned group of colors visible/notable to the user at the UI.

E.g. hovering over a color should also depict to which group the color belongs to.
Or, to make the grouping of colors visible/notable to the user.

In that context also the idea to allow user-definable groups of colors came up.

Armin asked for an RFE issue in <http://markmail.org/message/jre7ksabxtqh5gxa?q=+list:org.apache.incubator.ooo-dev#query:%20list%3Aorg.apache.incubator.ooo-dev+page:1+mid:k7pmsyjwiirsiaqd+state:results> to make sure that this idea gets documented.

I made a custom palette some time ago, the advantage is that you don't need to scroll, all the colors are displayed at once. This is something to remember. We get quickly fed up with the need of scrolling to see all the colors.
