Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 121546
Page count increases if a graphic file is inserted
Last modified: 2013-04-15 23:27:51 UTC
Created attachment 80069 [details] a file containing many pictures and text If a graphic file is inserted in a Writer document, page count increases uncontrollably. This problem seems to occur in files containing many pictures and text. Reproduced with OOo3.2.1,3.3.0 AOO3.4.0 3.4.1on Win 7 and XP. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open the document "sample.odt". 2. Place a cursor at the first paragraph in Page1. 3. Insert a graphic file.(size: 1024x768) 4. Page count increases 15 to 21 gradually. (Scroll down the window.) I found that in some cases, you can solve the problem if you set the following option, but this setting is needed on each file. So I think it is not a fundamental solution of the problem. "Tool" - "Option" - "OpenOffice.org Writer" - "Compatibility" - "Use OpenOffice.org1.1 object positioning" Thank you.
In my previous comment, I wrote the function-name as"Use OpenOffice.org1.1 object positioning" by mistake. I meant "Use OpenOffice.org1.1 text wrapping around object". I am sorry about that.
I can confirm the bug.
I also reproduced the defect in AOO 3.4.1 The defect does not depend on the action to insert another picture. If you place the cursor at the beginning of the second paragraph of the document and insert a page break (e.g. by hitting keys CTRL-RETURN) the page layout is also broken. To 'correct' the layout just trigger another layout of the document by inserting another paragraph. Afterwards you can revert the insertion of this paragraph with the Undo function.
