Description TAB 2013-03-12 12:51:02 UTC
After a power failure, OOff sometimes --that's not reproducible-- comes up 'empty': no recent documents, customs settings (eg, colours) replaced by default, templates initialized for 'first-time usage' use, etc.
This indicates bad parameter management. Only the current session should suffer. For example, if I changed the background colour just before the power failure, I expect to lose it, but the old colour (from the previous session) should be preserved.
Even though the problem is not reproducible, one could examine how --in what file?-- the user parameters are stored, and ensure that the orevious settings are safe until updated when the current session terminates normally.

'Can not reproduce' --true.
But, can be fixed. See my original submission.
I am not a software expert but here is a suggestion: if the user-parameters file was closed immediately after OO loads, and reopened --for updating-- only when the session closes normally, then it would not get damaged by a power failure. The old parameters (options, recent documents, ...) would still be available when restarting OO after power is restored.

Confirming for possible improvement in save mechanism.
