Description Charles Bradshaw 2013-03-13 22:51:24 UTC
Until yesterday when I saved a text file it was saved with a suffix showing file type e.g.xxxxx.doc. When instructed to convert as .pdf in the same display it saved as .pdf.
Now it saves without suffix.
After conversion to .pdf it says 'already saved, do you want to overwrite?' but this cannot be so. The file type seems to expect to behave as a file saved under Mediainfo.
Through 'rename' in Windows explorer and adding .pdf I can get it to offer the file as a .pdf file.
I cannot say where the 'media info' is as this is not found in programs and I cannot therefore delete it.
Is this because Open Office is not allocating .doc?

Only reason I can think of is that "Automatic file name extension" is unchecked and you give a name without extension in "File name:" field.
Please advise.

Thanks for the suggestion. I appear to have unchecked "Automatic file name extension", without knowing that I had done so. A mistake of the inexperienced!
All seems OK now, thanks

Not a bug.
