Description Edwin Sharp 2013-05-04 19:34:17 UTC
For combining separate images side by side horizontally or vertically.
Comment 1 Regina Henschel 2013-05-04 20:20:20 UTC
I'm not sure what you want. The description is very short. At least in Draw and Impress you can use snapping to put the images together without gap.
Comment 2 Edwin Sharp 2013-05-05 05:05:36 UTC
Imagine writing a document and after inserting a few figures you change your mind and think the structure will be better merging the figures into one figure.
You will have to leave the application, merge the figures with some external graphic tool and then return to the application.
The suggested feature is to be able to that without leaving the application.
Thank you for considering this idea!

I believe we are talking about following (also see attachment):
If you have several drawings in a Writer document, it's impossible to merge the drawings / pictures / images into a group.

That would be a DUP of "Bug 71552 - Pictures can not be selected to group"
Comment 4 Rainer Bielefeld 2013-05-06 04:51:04 UTC
And "Bug 71552 - Pictures can not be selected to group" is a DUP of "Bug 30523 - Introduce grouping and multiselection of Writer fly frames (frames, graphics, OLE objects)"

@Edwin Sharp
Please feel free to reopen this bug if I misunderstood intention of your report. Generally I recommend to describe the problem more detailed and to contribute a "real life" example for feature requests.
