Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 122297
CRASH when open Extension Manager from Base
Last modified: 2013-05-21 02:19:27 UTC
I have a database table built and some queries constructed that work well. I want to create a report. The Report Wizard sucks so Help tells me to install the Report Builder extension, and it even tells me to go to Tools and select the Extension Manager. When I do this, Open Office immediately crashes: Due to an unexpected error, OpenOffice.org crashed. ... blah blah blah about document recovery. No error message other than the above. Total mystery.
NOT reproducible with server installation of "AOO 3.4.1 – German UI / German locale [AOO341m1(Build:9593) - Rev.1372282]" on WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", own separate user profile I tried Extension Manager from AOO Start Center, Test with Database will follow. @Steve Comstock Does Crash always happen when you try to open Extension Manager or only in that Situations?
Good question. Made me look around a bit. Problem occurs from the database window, Tools menu, Extensions manager option. It does not occur from the main window, Tools menu, Extensions manager option. so, a work around that will work for me. Thanks.
I will try with Biblio
Strange, I removed the Report builder but I was able to create a report without installed Report builder. To be honest, my Database knowledge is lousy. @Steve Comstock: Can you contribute a detailed step by step instruction (every mouse click, every key press ...) how to reproduce the crash with the Biblio data base?
@rainerbiefeld: Launch OpenOffice File -> Open (click); crash; data recovery (nothing to recover); back to main screen File -> Open (click); dialog: which file; OpenOffice\Basis\presets\database\biblio.odb (loads file) Tools -> Extension Manager ... <== crash ====== Works OK if select Tools -> Extension Manager from initial window, so I have a work around and I'm moving on. Thanks. -Steve Comstock
