Description oooforum (fr) 2013-05-14 13:26:02 UTC
From Apache OpenOffice 4.x ยป crashrep / source / all.po
String #6 has an hyperlink to http://www.openoffice.org/privacy.html
This page is in english

Do we need to translate it?
If yes, the link should be localized and be able to jump to native language page

I would suggest to use a generic link to http://www.openoffice.org so that we don't depend on hard-coded URLs.

The English version will always be available from the English site footer, the (say) French version could be in the French site http://www.openoffice.org/fr , or linked from http://www.openoffice.org/privacy.html , or not ready yet... but this way we can keep flexibility for the future.

If the fix is revision 1484668 then this is actually not fixed.

This issue is: if we use http://www.openoffice.org/privacy.html as the "privacy" link (which is what revision 1484668 does), then that page is currently in English only and we must decide if/how to provide translated versions.

One option is to simply use http://www.openoffice.org as the "privacy" link and let the user find the privacy information in his language, if available, without enforcing any logic in the URLs we embed in OpenOffice. After all, the "Privacy" link is clearly visible in the site footer for English readers.
