Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 122850
MS .pptx Textbox size imported wrong size (add support for stacked text direction)
Last modified: 2015-04-07 19:20:33 UTC
This bug was tested Apache OpenOffice v4.0 running in windows 7 and XP. It appears that AOO loses formatting when importing MS .pptx files. I have attached an example. Steps to reproduce the bug: 1. Download pptx file from: https://skydrive.live.com/view.aspx?resid=9FBE63963526EB25!411&app=PowerPoint&authkey=!AN5Q_kKPvn2eWUQ 2. Open Contoso-Presentation.pptx document in Impress 2. Open Contoso-Presentation.pptx document in PowerPoint 2007/Office 365 3. Compare the documents. Note The "Sales", "CALCULATING PROFIT", and "Highest Revenue" are sized incorrectly resulting in them being displayed incorrectly.

see attachment 81165 [details]. Rev. 1503704 Win 7
Created attachment 81170 [details] MS .pptx size and position import error pg2 This is only page 2, with all other slide and pictures removed to reduce the file size.
also reproduced with OOo 3.3.0 -> adjusting field Version accordingly

So after further investigation, it appears that the PPTX importer doesn't understand the OOXML stacked text tag.
