Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 122876
AOO 4.x crash on Mac OS X 10.8.4 (12E55) editing or saving
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:12:58 UTC
OpenOffice 4.0.0 AOO400m3(Build:9702) shuts down when I paste into, save Write formats (odt and xml) and Word formats (doc and xml) after I've typed some text. I don't have the opportunity to test any other functions as it keeps crashing. The recovery process does not give me the crash report. I haven't tried any of the other components (Base, Calc, etc.) as it's not worth my time. I have a Macbook Pro 5.1 running Mac OS X 10.8.4 (12E55), 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo I installed the latest Java from Apple Support to make sure that wasn't the problem. I tried three downloads and installations to make sure there wasn't a problem with the file transfer. My system reported the crash to Apple each time it happened but I can't find the report after I "restore" the file.
Does disabling the "Readability Report" extension solve this crash? If this is so then this issue can be assumed to have the same root cause as bug 122885.
Can't reproduce using this steps - select first paragraph of this bug description - copy - open openoffice writer - paste - file, save as... - save using odf - file, save as... - save using doc Readability Report ( http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/en/project/readability-report ) is "OS:Windows oo version:3.4 " if installed in OS X generate some problems.
This issue has not been confirmed, yet. --> removing keyword 'regression' Adding keyword 'needmoreinfo' in order to get more information - hopefully from the issue submitter. Thanks in advance.
@reporter: thank you for your feedback! Unfortunately you are wrong here, this is the AOO bug tracking system, not a helpdesk. You can get assistance at <http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/> or here:<http://www.openoffice.org/support/> If you want to report bugs please consider hints on <http://www.openoffice.org/qa/issue_handling/basic_rules.html#summary> Please feel free to reopen this Bug if discussion with other users leaded to an assessment that we have an AOO bug with a current AOO Version and a clear and comprehensible description how to reproduce the problem due to above mentioned guidelines.
