Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 122893
4.0.0 Calc: Crash on multiple linked data update
Last modified: 2013-10-27 12:10:41 UTC
Win7 64 I have a Calc spreadsheet, created in 3.4.1, with 30 pages, each linked to external data (tables on baseball-reference.com). Each page is linked to one table. In 3.4.1, this spreadsheet updated without issue, though it took several minutes to do so. However, after upgrading to 4.0.0, this same spreadsheet crashes, sometimes immediately, sometimes after 30 seconds or so. Calc terminates and attempts to recover the file. In 3.4.1, while updating these multiple links, there are a few moments when the program registers as "Not responding." It seems this behavior repeats once for each page while downloading and updating the data (my inference). Under 4.0.0, I get a crash. I have reverted to 3.4.1...it's not a big deal. Just thought y'all might want to know. Jeff Taipei Taiwan
Can you attach a document to reproduce the crash?

"This file contains links to other files. Should they be updated?" - Yes -> Crash. Rev. 1507307 Win 7
.
Looks like a Windows-only bug, cannot reproduce on Linux 64 bit.

Comment on attachment 81204 [details] This is the file that crashes I can confirm this file crashes on Windows 8 with Open Office 4.0.1 but opens OK on Open Office 3.4.1 I have the same problem with other files that update links online when running 4.0.1
