I have been trying to upgrade to 4.0 over the last week or so. I can't upgrade & I con't seem to uninstall 3.4.1 to let the new version in. 4.0 says already in process, ditto for 3.4.1 to uninstall. I have restarted my computer a number of times, & nothing is showing up in task manager.

What is your operating system? Windows, Linux or Mac OS

In general there is no need to uninstall the former version, but may the AOO quickstarter is running and prevent the installation.
Please have a look in the user community forum - http://forum.openoffice.org/ - for further help.
