2 attachments - .doc files before & after passing through word 97

Writer reports a read error when attempting to load a particular .doc file. (attached)
It loads it happily if read into word 97 and resaved under another name 

After attempting to load the file and reporting a read error, a lock file has been created
This can only be manually deleted

I don't know the source program that created the .doc file I could try to find out if essential
I have a copy of the resaved file but cannot attach it to this report (only one attachment allowed)


The file attached is not sensitive!!

Attachment opens OK in Word 2007.

confirming, too

It is a regression compared to AOO 3.4.1

Defect cause:
Changes to WW8 (Microsoft Word binary file format) import for checking validity were too strict.

Fix in progress.

@wrigh: I have no word 97, could you please attach the copy of the resaved file as another attachment - click "Add an attachment" in Attachments section

It's verified fixed in build AOO401m2(Build:9711)  -  Rev. 1518667, open successfully and the lock file will be deleted automatically when close the file.
