Writer opens most of my simple WORD 1997/03 files but will not open 2 page Files where WORD's table function has been used.  Error message : Error reading file".

The files open OK with MS WORD viewer.

I was unable to recreate the bug using the multiple test files I created. I tested with multiple tables on 2 pages as well as one table which spanned both pages and each loaded perfectly fine. Though there was a discrepancy between the outline color of the table as Writer showed a red outline when MS Word had shown orange. This however, is probably unrelated to this issue.

I was unable to replicate the bug. My device that I used is a 4 to 5year old laptop windows 7 64 bit laptop ASUS. I used the attachment and I made my own 2 page word document with tables and information in them. When I opened the same document using OpenOffice 4.0.1 the table shows right up. Although there is some minor formatting issue which is easily fixed.
