Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 123529
Copy - Paste inserts shape to wrong layer "Layout"
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:44:55 UTC
I observe the problem with "AOO 4.0.1 – German UI / German locale [Rev. 1524958 2013-09-20 11:40:29]" on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", “historic” 4.0 User Profile used for all predecessor versions and also with "AOO 4.1.0-Dev – English UI / German locale - [AOO410m1(Build:9750) - Rev. 1534248 - 2013-10-22]" on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", own separate user profile. 1. In a document similar to <http://www.bielefeldundbuss.de/OOO_QA/sample20.odg> Add 3 Layers "Layer4", "Layer5", "Layer6" 2. Lock first layer "Layout" 3. Do lots of edits in the other layers, draw no shapes, lines, textboxes, copy from a slide to a different slide, continue editing ... Bug: After a while a shape copied on slide6-Layer5 (for example) with <control+c> will be pasted to slide5 (for example) first layer "Layout" Additional info --------------- (a) if the problem has appeared the first time, afterwards it will happen very often, sometimes for nearby every copy/paste (b) clicking to a different layer and back to the wanted layer before paste heals the problem for this edit (c) unfortunately until now I did not find a way to make that problem reproducible. Generally lots of edits are required (1/4 hour editing quickly or so) until problem is visible first time all documents I edit are of that type. (d) Might be a regression, I can't remember to have seen that with LibO until LibO 4.0 (d) I do not think that the problem is related to that particular document type, but currently I mostly work with similar documents (e) Quit AOO and relaunch / reopen document heals the problem for a while, I can't remember whether also close document / reopen heals the problem.
As mentioned still Reproducible with "AOO 4.1.0-Dev, but because of incomplete LCo selector (Bug 123063) no correct information can be left.
ALG: There was also an error with updating the layer when switching pages in draw/impress which is fixed, maybe that was the reason. Could you re-check with a more current trunk version please?
@Armin Le Grand: I also noticed the problem you mentioned in comment above. I will follow your advice and do further tests with latest builds, but it will take some days until I will have enough time.
Until end of this week I will have to do some work where this problem used to show up. I hope that I will find the roots, may be a relation to Issue 124816, but I am doubtful: I don't think that this issue 123529 appeared with 3.3 or more early, but Issue 124816 definitively is already in OOo 3.1.1 and OOo 2.0.2
Retried after fixing issue 124816, but could not reproduce. If possible a reduced description would help.
