Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 123548
AOO 4.0.1 does not work with OS X 10.9
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:01:15 UTC
I downloaded and opened AOO 4.0.1. On installation I opted for the new version to replace the old. I now get this notice: 'OpenOffice can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer. Safari downloaded this file today at 8.49 AM from source forge.net.' This means I cannot get at essential documents, etc., formulated in OpenOffice. I therefore hope for a solution ASAP. TIA.
Created attachment 81820 [details] Screenshot showing same bug on a second machine [mine].
I quote from the release notes "Apache OpenOffice 4.0.0 will be flagged by the new Gatekeeper facility in Mac OS X Mountain Lion. This is a new feature to help guard against malware on Mac systems. There is a procedure laid out at the following link to allow applications not installed from the Mac App store to run. See the article at Mac support at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5290."
