Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 123867
Cannot edit table
Last modified: 2017-05-20 09:36:04 UTC
Created attachment 82121 [details] Sample Document I cannot edit the table named Department within the attached database, when selecting the table under the Tables control
Hi Jon C.: "I cannot ...." sounds like a user problem ;-) Where is the AOO problem? Why don't you think that it simply is a damaged document?
Don't be too impressed by the way of talking, one might want to reproduce the issue before discarding it.
Can you try to tell me how to edit the table named Department?
Editing table Department works fine. Editing table data doesn't Steps to reproduce: * open attachment 82121 [details] * select table Department * Edit - Open Database Object... Table Data View opens expected result table data is editable actual result Edit - Edit Data is disabled (grayed out) no input row for new data record tested with AOO 3.4.1 and AOO410m1(Build:9750) - Rev. 1546588 on Windows
(In reply to Jon C. from comment #3) > Can you try to tell me how to edit the table named Department? TH reason you cannot input data into the Department table is that it has no primary key. The problem I see is that even when I try to define a primary ky in the table locally it will not allow a key fild to be defined. I tried both setting an xisting field as the key and creating a new field as key field and neither works. It shows the key icon and allows you to save the table and the file, but when you re-open the file and edit the table there is again no key field. Regards Keith McKenna
Comment on attachment 82121 [details] Sample Document This document contains a table (Name "Department") what can not be edited. None of my WIN OOo, AOO, LibO versions can edit that table. Reason seems to be missing primary key (see Comment 5). I still think that that simply is a damaged document, my base knowledge is too poor to find out how to repair. Interesting question is whether we have a vulnerability of Base what can be fixed.
Currently we only know 1 document in the whole universe showing reported problem, so IRREPRODUCIBLE for now. @Jon C Please feel free to reopen this bug if you find evidence that we really have an AOO bug here - for example how to produce such a damaged database from the scratch.
