Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 124007
Search in form view doesn't search through whole database
Last modified: 2014-01-12 21:39:03 UTC
When doing a search the first time in the form display, the response is "not found" when the searched word or phrase is not within the first 40 or so records. One has to go to the last record of the database before a full search of the database is performed. As I regularly use the form display and have to do a search almost every time on databases with around 500 records, this is quite annoying.
DUP of bug "Bug 22831 - Scroll Slider scrolling of large database tables stops at record 40" *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of issue 22831 ***
I don't consider this a duplicate of bug 22831, since it's related to the form view and search. I had used LibreOffice before, and either they have solved the problem recently or it's unrelated, because there the search through the database worked always - all records were searched and not just the first 40 or so. I don't remember having the problem in earlier versions of OO, when i still used that (before the forge of LO). In my view it's a new bug, that hasn't occured before in LO and before the LO forge. the issue described in bug 22831 about scrolling has always been there, agreed, but that is only relevant in the table view and has (for me) never influenced the search in the form view.
