Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 124300
Anchor for comments in Calc is almost invisible
Last modified: 2019-09-03 14:37:35 UTC
As discussed on the mailing lists in Italian, anchor for comments in Calc is almost invisible: 1. Create a new Calc spreadsheet. 2. Go to any cell, Insert -> Comment, Insert a comment and move to another cell. 3. An anchor is displayed (a small red rectangle, a few pixels wide, in the top right corner of the cell) to give a hint that a comment is there. This is barely visible at times and zooming in/out it does not change. Proposal: make it more visible, perhaps guaranteeing that it is always at least the size it is now, but, when resolution/size allows, turning it to a triangle (perhaps with transparency?) that covers the top-right corner, say 1/3 or 1/2 of the cell height. I can attach mockups if this is not clear, but anyway any more visible and not too ugly solution will do. [ Credit: Reported by Bruno on the mailing lists in Italian ]
Created attachment 82674 [details] comment anchor comparison IMHO no problem despite differing from others.
Thank you Edwin for the screenshots. Yes, Gnumeric and Calligra appear to do it better. Something like that would be more visible even if you say there is little difference. But especially when the screen resolution is quite high it seems that the current anchor is very, very tiny.
Problem isn't new: https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=67173

To heavy to solve it? The hint in the duplicate issue (use the navigator) is IMO nonsens.
Still unsolved.
Setting the largest confirmation.
Still not fixed. Even if you zoom in, the size remains unchanged.
