Description zhaoshzh 2014-02-24 07:36:10 UTC
Make the bullet/numbering operations be same to the result in the MS OFFICE 2003

1. New a sd(presentation).
2. Insert a table.
3. Set focus into some cells and input some lines texts into the cells.
4. Set multi bullets(include multi types and multi levels) for the texts.set the square bullet type.
5. Undo.

issue:
can not clear bullet for selected cells.
the bullet changed from square type to a dot type.

I haven't a clue how to reproduce the problem. "Set focus into some cells and input some lines texts into the cells."???

@zhaoshzh
Please contribute a sample document and a *precise* step by step instruction how to reproduce the problem.

Well, at least I can see some unexpcted inconsistencies, using menu 'Format -> Bullets and Numbering' does several steps with 1 click, and undo behaves different depending on caret position when undo and other circumstances, I will do some more research later.

Reproducible with server installation of "AOO 4.1.0-Dev – English UI / German locale - [AOO410m1(Build:9750) - Rev. 1565724 - 2014-02-09]" on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", own separate user profile.

For me the the problem seems to depend on selected text:

1. New Drawing
2. Menu 'Insert -> Table [ok]'
   > Tabel 3 columns 2 rows appears
3. Into B1 Type "aaa"
4. <control+a> to select all
5. Click 'Bullets' Icon
   > filled circle bullet appears in front of "aaa"
6. Menu 'Bullets and Numbering -> Bullets (Tab) -> Checkmark'
   > Bullet changes to checkmark, "aaa" still selected
7. Click 'Undo' Icon in Standard Toolbar
Expected: Bullet changes fom "checkmark" to "filled circle"
   Actual: "aaa" becomes unselected
8. Click 'Undo' Icon in Standard Toolbar
Expected: Bullet changes fom "checkmark" to "filled circle"
Actual: Nothing? semms that some pixels in "aaa" move
9. Click 'Undo' Icon in Standard Toolbar
Expected: Bullet changes fom "checkmark" to "filled circle"
Actual: Bullet disappears "Circle" step skipped

Additional Info:
----------------
(a) I see the same unexpected proceeding in DRAW
(b) Unexpected behavior depends on highlighted test, if you skip step 4
    problem does not appear
(c) Already Reproducible with OOo 3.1.1
(d) LibO 4.2 still affected
(d) Has nothing to do with table, all the same in a simple text box
(e) reporter's sample with bullets is very instructive, but problem
seems not to be limited to bullets. Do a little test with a
Text box, 'type "aaa", select all, apply bold -> italic -> underlined
-> character color = ligt red'. Afterwards do undo step by step, you will
have to do much more undos than expected.
(f) already with OOo 2.0.2 I see unexpected many undo steps to reach
starting situation, but with that Version undo will not skip
filled circle bullet, so I think main problem started after 2.0.2
(g) possibly related bugs:
"Bug 95008 - Undoing bullets action does not work as desired"
    may be more
I think I will mark Bug 95008 as DUP of this one because here we have
    more precise facts

(e): I think the "unexpectedly many Undos" problem is a different problem.
