STEPS TO REPRODUCT:
1. Open SPREADSHEET
2. Enter any value in a cell
3. SELECT ALL by clicking on the "Common Row & Column Selector" as shown in attached "SELECTOR.docx"
4. The entered value becomes invisible until deselected

Crazy!  Reproducible with "AOO 4.0.1 Release – German UI / German locale [AOO401m5(Build:9714)  -  Rev. 1524958 2013-09-20 11:40:29]" on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", “historic” 4.0 User Profile used for all predecessor versions:

11. Start typing into a cell
12. Click common rows / columns header while caret still flashing in cell
   Bug: Cell contents no longer visible, 
        (but reappears with <Enter>)

Additional info:

(a) Already reproducible with 4.1.0, 3.4.0, OOo 3.1.1
(b) was still ok OOo 2.0.2
(c) there is an additional observation, I can't tell whether related or not:
    Starting with OOo 3.3.0 (was different in 3.2.1) flashing caret moves up
    1/2 caret hight (and 1/4 row width or so to the left) in Step 12
(d) also visible with LibO 3.5.7.2 on Ubuntu 12 (including the strange Caret
    moving), so OS = All

Again a problem with TextEditMode, it should just get ended when the select all by klick is triggered. This is what is done when selecting the whole row/column when in edit mode.
