Description loveworthkeeping 2014-04-22 10:00:17 UTC
Each time I try to open the version 4.0.1, I get the NSIS error message: Installer integrity check has failed. Common causes include incomplete download and damaged media. Contact the installer's author to obtain a new copy.

I've tried to download it several times from here:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/openofficeorg.mirror/files/4.0.1/binaries/en-US/Apache_OpenOffice_4.0.1_Win_x86_install_en-US.exe/download

but I always get the same message. I had the 3.4.1 version but that stopped working last night and I can't get into any of my work (which is freaking me out). What else can I do to get the new version to open? The issues closest to what's happening both say "irreproducible" and I don't know a thing about a "checksum". Help!

What is your operating system?
What exactly stopped working in 3.4.1?
Comment 2 Oliver-Rainer Wittmann 2014-04-22 10:27:41 UTC
I downloaded the installation set found at the given URL to my Windows 7 system.
I did not get any error message from NSIS after I double-clicked the downloaded executable.

@loveworthkeeping:
I assume you are on a Windows operating system. Which Windows version are you using?

What kind of problem do you have with your installed AOO 3.4.1 version?
Comment 3 Maryna 2014-04-23 00:23:00 UTC
I installed 3.4.1 version on Windows 8. And after I installed version 4.0.1 from given URL. I did not get any error message.
Comment 4 Rainer Bielefeld 2014-04-25 17:02:37 UTC
I can provoke that error with a wantonly damaged installer.exe. My (few) experience is that main root for such messages is a damaged installer.

@loveworthkeeping:
You should check md5 checksum, see hints on
<http://www.openoffice.org/download/checksums.html#internet> or ask for help in the forum <http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/>

Please feel free to reopen this issue if discussion with other users shows that there might be a real OOo bug and leads to useful information how to reproduce the problem.
