Description ooo 2014-05-24 13:22:22 UTC
Changing printer settings doesn't flag the document as being updated so if the document is not force saved with 'save as', printer settings that should be saved with the document are lost.
Document is .odt
Option load printer settings with document is ticked.

If you want to save the printer settings you have two options:

1) changing the printer via File → Printer settings…
or
2) Tools → Options - OpenOffice - General
Document status: [x]Printing sets "document modified" status

2) was introduced because most people doesn't understand that printing changes the document status to save the printing date in it.

1) Changing printer settings via File → Printer settings does not save printer settings.

2)Tools → Options - OpenOffice - General
Document status: [x]Printing sets "document modified" status

That may work if you actually print the document. It's also confusing because only the settings for the printer used to print the document are saved, not any other printer settings.

It would be much more logical to follow my report and associate printer settings with the document and if any are changed then the status of the document changes with them. That way all printer settings are always saved and everyone should understand the circumstances under which they are saved.

Just trying to help.

In my tests it forces to change the document status as you wanted in comment 0.

That may be true but this is an other issue as it was described.

So I reopen this issue with another heading.

That printer settings are not saved if they are changed inside the printing dialogue was introduced with the new layout (preview) of the printing dialogue.

So it is a REGRESSION.

Seems to be a duplicate of bug 70116
