When I open this file on my computer, it looks like this.

When I use OpenOffice Writer, there is a red wavy line under nearly every word I type even though the words are spelled correctly. Language for all text is set to English (USA). I uninstalled and reinstalled OpenOffice. I installed the OpenOffice 4.1.0 Language Pack (English). Still no change. I see that this issue has been posted before but no one seems to be able to reproduce the error on your end.

Nothing have been committed for this issue.
I simply made a typo in the issue number - sorry for the noise

I have the exact same problem. I have AOO 4.1.0 on a Windows 7 PC. I have installed and uninstalled dict-en.oxt several times. All to no avail.

You need to locate the user profile, and remove the folders named "extensions" and "uno_packages".

That did the trick. Thank you. Why is the solution so obscure?
