Description jhansonxi 2003-03-20 20:09:55 UTC
The field widths in the table view default to the column title. There should be
an option somewhere to default to data width. Usually my titles are short but
my data long.

Split from Issue# 12482

Actually, it should default to the wider of the title or data.

There should be an option to indicate if it should attempt to fit the
columns in the available window space (no horizontal scrollbar) or
adjust to whatever it takes to fit the data.

There should be an option to allow line wrapping of long data.
Similar to how it is handled in Calc where the data is wrapped within
the column and the row height is increased for the entire record/row.
This means that the other fields in the record end up with extra
whitespace.

I am very sceptic about this special feature (which in my eyes is not
related to the original RFE made herein) in the ordinary table view, I
think a form is the more appropriate mean for large memo fields ... JM2C.

A line wrapping option is just a suggestion for viewing fields in the
DSB which are 100-150 characters or so in length. It would make
browsing data more convenient without having to create a form for it.

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".
