The sidebar of AOO 4.1.1 RC1 shows inch instead of centimetres in the german version. (Ubuntu 14.04 64bit)

If I open a new writer document I can see, that the sidebar switches from inch to centimetres. But if I select another category in the sidebar and switch back to the properties it shows inch.

In a draw document: if I draw a text rectangle the sidebar shows centimetres. But if I click outside the text rectangle and select it again, the sidebar shows inch.

Can you give more details about your settings

For example:

Tools -> Spracheinstellungen -> Sprachen -> Gebietsschema -> ?
... Sprachen -> Standardsprachen der Dokumente -> Westlich -> ?
Tools ->OpenOffice Writer -> Allgemein -> Maßeinheit -> ?

Well had to tweak some of these values because I have an English locale in my OS. But when I select German and mm it works as expected on MacOS. Linux not yet tested.

I've installed the german version with the default german locale settings.
Fresh installation, fresh user profile.

Same problem with RC2 and RC3.

Problem appears also at Linux32.

I see the same issue (or part of the same issue) with the Italian version, and with 4.1.0 too.

Steps to reproduce (either with 4.1.0 or 4.1.1-RC3, Linux 64-bit):

1) Launch OpenOffice
2) Click on "New Writer document" in the start centre
3) If you look at the Sidebar, for a very short time you see inches, then it refreshes and you see cm. So this is a minor glitch.
4) In the Sidebar, change the panel (buttons on the right) into "Styles and formatting", then back to "Properties"
5) Spacings are now shown in inches and work in inches. This is quite annoying.

A workaround I found by clicking around: apparently, if I click on the "Gallery" panel and then back to "Properties", everything is correctly set to cm.

@mroe: Does this correspond to your findings? Can you reproduce it in 4.1.0 too, like I did? Can you see it in earlier versions? I use separate profiles for 4.1.0 and 4.1.1-RC3.

@Andrea:

I can reproduce it down to 4.0.1. (??? It seems nobody (on Linux, including myself) uses the sidebar?)
Steps 1 to 5 describes exactly the problem.
But I can't confirm the workaround: If I click (all versions) onto gallery (or another category) and go back to properties it shows always inch.

or changing the panel with the drop down list in the upper right corner.

Can confirm the workaround with en_US UI (German AOO with en_US langpack) not with German UI.
