Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 12535
Remove trailing spaces while doing ctrl-delete or ctrl-bksp
Last modified: 2008-10-22 15:23:22 UTC
Generally when a user does ctrl-delete/ bksp, it is to delete the following/ preceding word. I have noticed in impress that ctrl-delete does not remove any trailing spaces between words. Therefore, when I delete 3 words, I have to press ctrl-delete 6 times instead of 3 times (3 times for the 3 spaces and 3 times for the 3 words). It is very rare for a user to want to retain the space. It would therefore be better if ctrl-del and ctrl-bksp deleted the word and the corresponding trailing/ leading space.
Reassigned to Bettina.

I seems to be working better but the way of things writer and impress is still different... Impress leaves space but it deletes it next time, writent doesn't leave any space...
Marking as a duplicate towards Issue 23872 which seems to have better progress (although argues the counter point). This should be discussed there. However, key to both is consistent behavior between applications.
