Description bryanwelsh 2014-08-18 15:00:00 UTC
Problem noted first time early August. Trying to open word document (.docx) that had been created on an iPad using Apple Pages, then downloaded to an Apple MacBook Air (in word format). Clicking on the downloaded file opens the OpenOffice main page and then it crashes with a message asking you if you want to re-open document. Just keeps crashing even when you try to reopen. I've tried several files created in the same way (even old files) and they always crash. Other word type documents created on the Mac and another PC open ok. Also, I downloaded same files from iPad to Windows PC and it opens ok with MS Word.

This looks like Issue 124106
Please try with 4.1.0 or 4.1.1 (to be released this week, Release candidate available at https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OOOUSERS/Development+Snapshot+Builds )

It is more like issue 124058 which is a crash caused by text documents created with Apple's Pages which has been fixed for version 4.1.0

@bryanwelsh:
Could you please check your issue in version 4.1.0?
Could you please attach a sample document?
