Description Ajith.B 2014-08-21 09:49:02 UTC
When opening a .doc file created using Microsoft office in open office, we get some additional data in the file which is not shown when we open using Microsoft office word. The alignment of the whole page is also changed.

Two things:

1st, without attaching a sample doc to illustrate your issue, it will be hard to help you.

2nd, you may upgrade to use a newer version because there have been some important improvements since OO 3.4.1.

I was unable to reproduce the issue of "When opening a .doc file created using Microsoft office in open office, we get some additional data in the file which is not shown when we open using Microsoft office word. The alignment of the whole page is also changed."

Steps Taken:
1. Start Open Office
2. Open a .doc file that was previously made in Word
3. Observed that the document opened properly
4. Observed the formatting of the text was the same

This was tested in Windows 8.1 Open Office 4.1.1

The document that was used to test this is attacked above.

No news since 2014-08-21 from the author, I think that this issue is not one and set to INVALID status
