Description Johnny Rosenberg 2014-09-20 20:05:37 UTC
Usually it works like expected, here's an example:
Highlight a cell in a Google spreadsheet document in Google Chrome (or other browser, I think I got the same result with Opera, for instance).
Ctrl+c.
Right click a cell in Apache OpenOffice spreadsheet.
Select Paste Special.
Select Unformatted text.
Done.

However, now and then Paste Special is missing.
If I restart Apache OpenOffice Calc, Paste Special is usually back again.

Unfortunately I could never figure out under which circumstances this misbehaviour happens. It happens maybe once every fifth time or so in average.

You set "PC Linux32". Could you specify your distro?
Comment 2 Johnny Rosenberg 2014-09-23 17:37:53 UTC
Oh, sorry. Yes, Ubuntu 14.04.

Are you sure to be in 32bit?
Comment 4 Johnny Rosenberg 2014-09-24 18:31:08 UTC
Yes, 32-bit for sure. I tried to install the 64-bit Ubuntu a few years ago but it failed. The message was that I was trying to install a 64-bit operating system on a 32-bit computer. I bought the computer in 2007 with Ubuntu 7.04 pre-installed.

Try to reset your profile.

You should post your problem on our end-user forum:
https://forum.openoffice.org
If other users can confirm that you find a problem located in the
application, so reproducible bug report is welcome.
Comment 6 Johnny Rosenberg 2014-09-25 17:18:17 UTC
I usually post to the mailing list, but this time I didn't. Sorry. I guess you could remove this bug then.

This issue is still occurring on AOO 4.1.0 (Ubuntu 14.04 x86_64);

1. Open Calc
2. Open html document in Firefox
3. Copy html text (eg text within an html table cell)
4. Paste Special fails in Calc (both ctrl-shift-v and menu option)
5. Open html document in Chromium
6. Copy html text (eg text within an html table cell)
7. Paste Special now works in Calc (both ctrl-shift-v and menu option)
8. Switch back to Firefox
9. Copy html text (eg text within an html table cell)
10. Paste Special now works in Calc (both ctrl-shift-v and menu option)

If this is an issue on Linux X64, maybe aa new issue should be opened.

I'm on Linux-32 and copied a row from the following html page --

http://cypress.csuchico.edu/APO/Webdocs/Schedule/CMS/GEClassSchedule_Pathways.asp?term=2152#WRIT

into a row in Calc using Paste Special with the html formatting option. No issues.

In other words, step 4 from Comment 8 works for me.

I'm not sure if this was an issue specifically related to the use of Google spreadsheet or not.
