Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 125651
Open particular.odt fails with error message
Last modified: 2023-12-29 21:07:25 UTC
Created attachment 83971 [details] Sample Document Attached sample has been condensed from a normal text document I have used from Beginning of 2014 until few days ago, edited lots of times. Few days ago with AOO420m1(Build:9800) - Rev. 1623875 on WIN7 64 bit I suddenly failed to open document with error message "Read Error. Error reading file." So I did several experiments and reduced document to attached sample document. Opens fine with AOO401m3(Build:9712) - Rev. 1520285 2013-09-05 13:52:01 (Do, 05 Sep 2013) on WIN7 64 bit. LibO Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 0b3b907e96a8bbc477b8755a5bcffc350c53ce2b TinderBox: Win-x86@39, Branch:master, Time: 2014-09-16_05:01:30 also fails to open the document. I am afraid that it will be impossible to find out how the document became damaged so that it can't be opened with current OO versions. But if older Versions (I tested AOO401m3(Build:9712) and OOo 3.1.1 on WIN7) also current versions should be able to open that document. Steps how to reproduce: 1. From AOO Start Center in AOO File dialog browse for sample document and open by double click on document. Problem: opening fails with error message
My mistake - Sample document still opens fine with AOO411m6(Build:9775) - Rev. 1617669 2014-08-13 09:06:54 (Mi, 13 Aug 2014)
Can confirm also for Ubuntu 64. Read error with AOO 4.2.0; AOO 4.1.1 opens the document.
My "git bisect" found the following commit caused the regression: ---snip--- 56b35d86153c02ff07ff2435fcc383d035fd8df0 is the first bad commit commit 56b35d86153c02ff07ff2435fcc383d035fd8df0 Author: Armin Le Grand <alg@apache.org> Date: Mon Jun 2 15:00:50 2014 +0000 i124638 Second step of DrawingLayer FillAttributes for Writer objects, now added support for Paragraph and PageStyle (including Header and Footer) for direct attributes and style attributes git-svn-id: https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/openoffice/trunk@1599233 13f79535-47bb-0310-9956-ffa450edef68 ---snip--- This is the same bad commit as I found in bug 125699, but causes completely unrelated symptoms. The same commit causes at least 2 known regressions. Adding author to CC. Armin: any ideas?
