Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 125902
com.sun.star.awt.UnoControlEditModel or XTextComponent is not updating properly
Last modified: 2017-05-20 09:31:58 UTC
Created attachment 84245 [details] Screen shot This is not the case for the Windows or Macintosh versions and it may even be particular to Fedora Linux64, but I can't test other versions right now. It happens for my extension, but I also notice that it happens for dialogs built with the OpenOffice UI. Open the dialog editor (e.g., Tools | Macros | Organize Dialogs) and create a new dialog and edit it. Insert a Text Box. Turn test mode on. Notice that in Fedora Linux64 and maybe other versions, the background of the text box is not white. Type into the dialog. As you type, the background will darken and so will the letters on the left as they are redrawn on themselves. If you click somewhere in the middle of your entry and type there, the new letters will appear over the old ones, turning it all into an unreadable mess. A cursor bar also hangs around on the left. Attached is a screen shot of it happening. I typed "thisisa" and then between "this" and "isa" typed "insert" or something like that. Perhaps the alpha values are not working as expected.
To save time, please attach a sample document including this dialog.
Created attachment 84267 [details] Document including dialog In making the attachment I notice that the entire user interface has the problem I describe. I have not noticed the problem with any other application running on the same OS, but it seems like the problem with OpenOffice may be particular to Fedora or even Fedora 20. My same extension and the OpenOffice UI don't not have the same problem on my Windows or Macintosh machines.

Can you give more details about graphic interface used: Gnome, KDE...

I hope that the graphic interface can be identified from the screen shots. It is the one installed by default.
Created attachment 84288 [details] Screenshot to show there is no problem I don't reproduce with my Fedora 20 x64 and AOO 4.1.1. The dialogboxes are clean. So, try to update with the latest release.
