Sample file

Multiple features are rendered incorrectly when opening the attached .docx document. Comparing between viewing in MS-Word 2013 with OpenOffice 4.1.1:

- 'Heading 1' and 'Heading 2' styles show the wrong font (use Times New Roman rather than Trebuchet MS).
- 'Footer' style is 12 pt (10 pt in Word).
- Embedded .PNG image on title page doesn't show up at all.

Saving the same document (from Word) as a .doc format, OO renders the .doc version perfectly.

Sounds like issue 119905
Comment 4 Mike 2014-11-27 19:10:09 UTC
Could be the same, but I'm getting *more* symptoms. Font size as well as font face is changing, and I've just noticed the tab definitions in the footer are also affected.

I was able to replicate this bug on Windows 7 64 bit using version 4.1.1.

Steps used to replicate:
1. Open a new document in MS word 2013
2. Create a header on page 1 using the Trebuchet MS font
3. Insert a .PNG image into the document
4. Create a footer using 12 pt font
5. Save the document as a .docx file
6. Open the saved document in OpenOffice Writer

ISSUE:
1. Header shows the wrong font
2. .PNG Image is not showing
3. Footer style size is larger

First Attempt:
Microsoft Word Version: 2010
Open Office Version: 4.1.2
Operating Software: Microsoft Windows 7

Steps used to replicate:
1. Open a new document in MS Word
2. Create a header on page 1 using the Calibri 18pt Font
3. Insert a .PNG image into the document
4. Create a footer using Calibri 18pt Font
5. Save the document as a .docx file
6. Open the saved document in OpenOffice Writer

Findings:
Header text is still Calibri 18pt Font
.PNG photograph is still visible.
Footer has defaulted to Cambria 12pt Font

Second Attempt:
Microsoft Word Version: 2010
Open Office Version: 4.1.2
Operating Software: Microsoft Windows 7

Steps used to replicate:
1. Open a new document in MS Word
2. Create a header on page 1 using the Microsoft Sans Serif 18pt Font
3. Insert a .PNG image into the document
4. Create a footer using Microsoft Sans Serif 18pt Font
5. Save the document as a Word 97-2003 file
6. Open the saved document in OpenOffice Writer

Findings:
Header text is still Microsoft Sans Serif 18pt Font
.PNG photograph is still visible.
Footer is using Microsoft Sans Serif 18pt Font

Observations:
Leads me to wonder if this may only be an issue when using newer versions of this software or newer versions of this software. Will try this on another computer.

Third Attempt:
Microsoft Word Version: 2016
Open Office Version: 4.1.2
Operating Software: Microsoft Windows 10

Steps used to replicate:
1. Open a new document in MS Word
2. Create a header on page 1 using Filigree with the MS PGothic 20pt Font
3. Insert a .PNG image into the document
4. Create a footer on page 1 using Filigree with the MS PGothic 20pt Font
5. Save the document as a Microsoft Word file
6. Open the saved document in OpenOffice Writer

Findings:
Header text is still MS PGothic 20pt Font
.PNG photograph is still visible.
Footer is using MS PGothic 20pt Font

So these bugs seem to only appear in the combination of Microsoft Windows 7, Open Office 4.1.2, and Microsoft Word 2010.
