Just in case...
Comment 2 Yuri Dario 2015-01-12 15:13:50 UTC
Found a dll missing from aoo-rpm compatibility package.
Please extract STDCPP.DLL from

http://rpm.netlabs.org/release/00/zip/gcc-4_4_6-15_oc00.zip

and try again.
Comment 3 Tom Brown 2015-01-13 00:41:54 UTC
System updated with STDCPP.DLL per Yuri's instructions. The results are the same. There was already a copy of STDCPP.DLL in \ecs\dll, but with a different length:

 1-10-12 10:34a 362,797 124 a--- stdcpp.dll
 7-26-13 2:31a 362,799 0 a--- stdcpp.dll.save

The first one id from Yuri, the second instance was there before, but the date is later.

One other note: while trying to install the ndpdbox plugin from BitwiseWorks, I discovered that there are *TWO* instances of /usr/lib/... on my system, one on my boot drive, and the other on my data/tools/apps drive.

I have no idea whether this has any bearing on my current problem with Open Office, much less how it happened or how to fix it.

Any words of wisdom or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Comment 5 Yuri Dario 2015-01-13 06:18:05 UTC
ah, you already have rpm env installed. if so, please remove the stdcpp.dll coming from the zip file and use the installed one.
You miss some other dll, please use

http://home.earthlink.net/~steve53/os2tools/pmdll-2.11.zip

or similar tool to see what is required to load icuuc42.dll, it will mark in red the missing dlls on your system.
Comment 6 Yuri Dario 2015-01-13 14:02:43 UTC
it seems icuuc42.dll is not found on your system, rc=2 FILE_NOT_FOUND
did you install it?

   'yum install libicu'

(check readme_aoo.txt on download site).
Comment 7 Silvan Scherrer 2015-02-25 15:24:24 UTC
please also try AOO 4.1.1.1.
more about that is found at http://www.bitwiseworks.com/press/20150210.php
and be sure you read the readme_aoo.txt carefully.
