Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 126458
blurry fonts and display
Last modified: 2015-11-15 17:35:17 UTC
Just purchased a new laptop with Windows 10 and Open office is very blurry. I ran the compatibility trouble shooter and it said that Open Office is incompatible. I use it all the time. Will this be fixed?
I don't understand what you means by "blurry". AOO works fine with Windows 10. Your bug report is being closed as NOT_AN_ISSUE due to a lack of information which is needed in order to accurately reproduce and confirm the problem. We need the following information (please ignore any that you've already provided): a) Could you attach a screenshot to see it. b) Provide any informations about your configuration (screen resolution and graphical output). Once all of this is done, please set the bug back to UNCONFIRMED and we will attempt to reproduce the issue.
This is a known issue. It appears to be happening in special cases that we have not been able to reproduce but that reporters have demonstrated with screen captures. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of issue 126436 ***
have you tried to reproduce this issue by going into the "system control" of windows 10 -> "monitor" -> increase the "scaling factor" from 100% to 110% or higher (125%, 150%, 200%). i thought that this issue can be reproduced.

That's correct. Please refer to Issue #126436# for a consolidated treatment of this issue.

I am changing my mind here :). Although scaling of the user's PC can be an issue, the issue also applies when the recommended default 100% scaling of the desktop display is used. So Issue #126436# is a related issue, and there may be a common cause, but the cases are different. Let's leave this open so that folks who have more information or similar experiences can find a place to add their confirmations.
Made re-opened and confirmed.
