Hi David,
I've made a video (.mov) of what happens.
----
The lowRes video is 29 MBytes large
The mediumRes video is about 110 MBytes large.
--------
Due to the 1 MB limit size of attachment, the videos are available on dropbox
LowRes https://www.dropbox.com/s/j5n2y9vabqxo32g/Issue%20126593%20Crash%20OO%20LowRes.mov?dl=0
MedRes https://www.dropbox.com/s/v6bp4q7qstb1mq7/Issue%20126593%20Crash%20OO%20medium%20res.mov?dl=0

----
In it, You'll see that the whole thing crashes when I press button labelled "Nombres" (Numbers).
The other buttons act perfectly well.
Hope this video could help.
Best regards

Francois aka Herve Zede

Confirmed. Problem exists for me as well, post 4.1.2 update. Bug is reproducible every time whet formatting dates and attempting to click the "Numbers" tab. As soon as that tab is clicked the program crashes. Will attach crash log.

Text doc of OO crash when attempting to format cell(s) with dates

Apple Crash report from reproducible OO Calc Bug.

Other effects of this bug:

1. Selecting a cell with number data and pressing shift+command+3 does not change number to date format.
2. Selecting a cell with number data and clicking the number format button does not change number to date format.

Neither causes the program to crash, but neither functions properly.

QT and others ran into similar problems

https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-48910
https://github.com/dtinth/YosemiteAndElCapitanSystemFontPatcher/issues/20 (Safari crash)

only on OS X 10.11 so far but other aoo modules might be affected as well
