Description Matthias Seidel 2016-10-28 15:10:43 UTC
What about signing the version for macOS a Developer ID to get rid of the
gatekeeper-messages?

With macOS Sierra the Gatekeeper is even more rigid and most people do not read the release notes... ;-)

There are several others bugs reporting this, may be a duplicate of 121478

Yes, maybe...
There are so many requests over these years and still issue 121478 is "CLOSED NOT_AN_ISSUE"?

The real question is, do we want to discourage people to install AOO on macOS?!

ASF has a Developer ID, so why not use it?

I've no idea why it was closed

I assume it is because the same reason we don't sign the Windows binaries, I'll try to clarify this on the mailing list dev@

*** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of issue 121478 ***

Yes, this should really be discussed!

BTW: To close a "known issue" (release notes) as "NOT_AN_ISSUE" seems quite a contradiction... ;-)
Comment 5 Peter 2016-10-28 17:49:21 UTC
There is a discussion on the dev mailing list about it.

I am just not that fast to bug everyone.

I bump the topic.
