screenshot of error message generated when I attempt ro run Openoffice.

I have found it impossible to start Open Office due to the fact that the system advises me that there is another instance of the program running which, to my knowlege, there is not.

I have deleted and re-installed the complete OpenOffice app, and have even re-installed my OSX,  and both are at their latest upgrades.  I still get the error message which is shown in the screenshot I have attached.   How can I "close" the supposed application when I have never started it?

You are in wrong place here, this is a bug tracking system and not a help-desk.
AOO 4.1.3 runs fine with OSX.
For this kind of problem, you can post on the end-user forum.
