Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 12740
Row and Column section in OO Write
Last modified: 2004-02-12 10:23:47 UTC
When working in tables, there is no method to select rows or columns with a single mouse click. The user has the drag the mouse across the row(s) or column (s) that needs to be selected. OO Write allows the user to select rows and columns via the keyboard, either through a keyboard short-cut or a menu selection. However, when doing some text editing, using the mouse is sometime preferable to the keyboard. Microsoft Word 2000 and newer has an easy way to select columns and rows: When the mouse is placed at the edge of a row or column, the pointer changes to a little arrow. That indicates the user can click to select the adjacent row or column. I'm suggesting that OO Write incorporate a similar method of selecting rows and columns via the mouse.
SBA: Reassigned to Bettina from the User Experience team for consideration.
