Product: OpenOffice Impress
Environment: Windows 10 Pro ; Product Version: Apache OpenOffice 4.1.4, Apache OpenOffice 4.1.2
Environment: Mac OS X El Capitan v.10.11.6 ; Product Version: Apache OpenOffice 4.1.2

STEPS:
Open a new presentation or a new slide if you don’t have any templates applied
Add a title and leave the default font size applied: 44
Add a description and leave the default font size applied: 32
Go to the Format menu
Click on the Page option
In the Page Setup Dialog, set the Page Height to any other value
Click on the title and description to see what is the new font size applied
Redo all the steps, but for step 2 and 3 set manually a different font size. Do not leave the default ones.

EXPECTED: I would expect the behaviors to be consistent. If the font sizes are changing accordingly to the Page Height when the user is not modifying the font size value, then it should be the same behavior for manually set font sizes. Or the font size should not be modified in any of the cases.

ACTUAL:
For steps 1-7, the font size is modified automatically when the user changes the Page Height. However, if the user sets manually a font size, this behavior will not be reproducible anymore. It might be confusing for the user to get different behaviors in different cases.
Also, if he leaves a part of the text with the default sizes and writes another part of the text with custom sizes when changing the Page Height, only the default font size is modified. This might cause even more confusion if the user has to edit half of the slide again.

I’ll attach two documents:
A document to use when trying to reproduce this issue
A document to see how only a part of the text is changed when modifying the Page Height.

NOTES:
I noticed that this is happening
for any page heights.
It’s happening for any text boxes created manually if the user doesn’t change the font size.
And this is not happening if:
The user changes the font size to a different one and then immediately changes is it back
The user repeats the steps with Page Width

Hello,

what is the expected for this issue?
- should font sizes change when the page height is change?
- or it shouldn't?

Hi Dolly,

Thanks for this very well written reports.
I scanned quickly through both of the reports.

Where is the difference? Can you explain?
Thank you!

Hi, sure!

This issue - 127565 refers to the following:
- if you open Impress and start writing without changing the font size -> the size of your text will be changed everytime you change the Page Height.
- if you set the font size first and then write -> the size of your text will not be modified by the Page height.

So it's an inconsistency between the default font size and the font size set by the user.

USE CASE: a user will edit his slide then change the page height and if there is text with default font size and font size set by him, he will need to edit the slide again.

The second issue:
I noticed that between the title and description default font sizes there is a ratio when the page height is changed. 127564 is about the fact that this ratio starts decreasing when the page height is around 10 cm and at one point (1 cm) the title and description has the same font size even though you can see that there is a clear difference between them on the slide.

___
I was asking what is the expected for the issue above (127565) because if the font size should not be modified at all by the page height then 127564 would not be relevant anymore.

I uploaded documents with the reproduced bugs for both issues.
